Emporium Framing and Gallery is pleased to present the vibrant, warm artwork of Edward V. Sabatini with an opening event Friday, April 20, 5-7pm, and running through June 9. This is our official kick-off opening event as new owners of the Emporium shop – please drop by to see the show and consider what you have which may need framing…

Edward V. Sabatini (born 1949 in Jersey City, NJ) paints large canvas, floral inspired abstract acrylics and medium sized landscape watercolors. Utilizing his training, knowledge, and experience with positive and negative space, light and life, Edward now takes his time and energy to project his gratitude and joy through his art. In this exhibit one observes the progression of technique and experience over time as well his expression of ‘soul place’. His first wet-on-wet watercolor abstract in 1972, ‘Tree Frog’ (1986), and ‘Big Red Barn’ (2012) demonstrate development of technique and physical places of his life. In the collection of abstracts one can observe his technique of creating overlapping, fluid shapes that are deep yet translucent. In the most recent large canvas works he has combined his watercolor with acrylic abstract techniques, inspired by the beautiful flowers and light from the historic farm he shares with his wife, Ingrid in Alfred, Maine, Three Charms Farm.

Edward was introduced to his own artistic affinity and interest through an elective course as he began his secondary education at Lycoming College and received his B.A. with a focus in Fine Art from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA in 1972. For the next 45 years, Edward continued to paint and receive professional creative training even though his primary energy was in the successful creation of construction, landscaping and most recently, farm businesses. His continued art training has included watercolor classes with Jane Hyerdahl in 1985-1986; studies of Interior Design at Boston Architectural Center 1987-1988 and Sanctuary Arts with Dewitt Hardy in Eliot, Maine 2012-2013.

Come join us for this dry/sober art opening event – complimentary snacks, beverages courtesy of Emporium Framing and Gallery; fresh cheese from Three Charm Farm; a sense of grace, joy, and wonder will be provided via Edward’s art and your attendance
