The Seacoast Half Marathon is Portsmouth’s premiere 13.1-mile race. The race starts and finishes at Portsmouth High School, and the course travels through rural Rye, along the rugged New Hampshire seacoast, through historic New Castle, and back along the Piscataqua River to Portsmouth. Racers get long-sleeve technical race shirts, finisher’s medals, and great post-race eats.
Each year, all of the proceeds of the Seacoast Half Marathon are donated to a different local non-profit organization. Since 2006, the race has contributed over $1,000,000 to the race beneficiaries. The 2018 beneficiary is The Birchtree Center, which works to transform and enrich the lives of children with autism.
