Dover Art Walk announces the 2019 Romance edition.
It’s not certain what Punxsutawney Phil might say on Saturday, but Friday afternoon from 4 – 8 PM will see lots of art around the town in Dover, as the Dover Art Walk opens once again. Whether that perennial groundhog sees his shadow or not, it’s almost certain that he’s up and looking for romance, and so will be those who visit the shops around Dover on February 1. Bring your sweetheart for a perfect date night, wear red, and take a selfie at our Gustave Klimt Kissing Booth! Warm up with some hot cocoa while you peruse original work made by talented local artists.
Live music will be performed at the Washington Street Mills, with Brian Walker and RC Thomas playing at the entrance. Also, the McDonough Grimes Irish Dance group will be performing at The Art Center, where the theme for this month’s exhibit is “Faces”.
A map of the stops along the location may be found at doverartwalk.com. You can visit the stops in any order you like, but at the end, stop by Cara Irish Pub to turn in your completed map, and be entered to win a drawing. While you’re there, take a moment to visit the sculptures by Michael Lee.
Whether you win the drawing or not, there is only one way to lose when it comes to the February Art Walk, and that is to follow the example of Punxsutawney Phil, and to poke your head out, and go back down that hole. Don’t be like Phil; get out there and enjoy the art walk!
