3S Artspace, Recovergirl, and Goodwill of Northern New England are once again joining forces to promote regional designers and sustainable fashion in the 2nd Project Upcycle design competition.
Eight designers will put their skills to the test in this wildly creative and fast-paced design challenge, transforming secondhand clothing provided by Goodwill of Northern New England into a gala-worthy outfit! The design challenge takes place March 28-30 and culminates in the Project Upcycle Runway Event on March 30.
With the support of community role models, designs will be modeled on the catwalk during Saturday night’s Runway Event and you’re invited! Designers will compete for cash prizes and will be judged on execution, creative reuse of materials, and styling by our elite panel of judges. As an attendee, you’ll also have the chance to cast your vote!
By purchasing a VIP ticket for Project Upcycle, you receive special behind-the-scenes access to the Meet & Greet. On Thursday, March 28th at 7pm, watch as the designers and the community role models meet for the first time, take a look at the Gallery space where all the sewing will be taking place, and see the competition begin as the designers choose their first item of clothing to upcycle into their designs from a mountain of possibilities!
The VIP ticket also includes a complimentary drink ticket for both the Meet & Greet event and the Runway Event and a swag bag of goodies!
A cash prize will be awarded to the top three designers.
First Prize: $1,500
Second Prize: $1,000
Third Prize: $500
