The Award- Winning Art Center in Dover, NH presents the 2023 Artist in Residency Exhibition, a fine art installation that showcases some of the best work of seasoned and up and coming seacoast artists. Artist Amanda Kidd-Kestler, Micah Doucette, Johanna Finnegan-Topitzer and Laura Villalobos each spent four months at The Art Center in the Art Center’s Artist in Residency Program to create the body of work that is presented in this impressive collection. The show highlights different styles of printmaking, watercolor, oil painting and drawing.
This is the 4rd year that the Artist in Residency Program has been available to local artists. When Rebecca Proctor created The Art Center, public education was always a part of her master plan. As The Art Center grew she put that plan into action with the help of Peter Henry of Market Square Jewelers who signed on to sponsor a studio. Then the printmaking program two years ago as The Art Center launched its state of the art printmaking studio. The Closet Connection subsidized this effort and several printmakers have reaped the benefits of their ongoing generosity.
The 2023 Artist in Residency Exhibition will be on display at the Art Center March 10 through the end of April with a reception on Saturday April 1, from 6pm-9pm. The public is invited to attend.
