The Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire Presents: A Window to the Universe
The Award-Winning Art Center in Dover, New Hampshire is proud to display artwork and photography focusing on the subject of Space in this month’s Art Center Gallery Exhibit. The show is predominantly astro-photography with a number of works submitted by UNH students who are currently taking the University of New Hampshire’s Introduction to Modern Astronomy course. Almost all the photography is presented in an 8” x 10” format and all forms of astro-photography from star trails to high resolution planetary images are utilized. The result is a remarkable presentation of colorfully beautiful, celestial objects. The show also has some original artwork on view. Of particular interest are the works of Duncan Reid. He has two large pieces along with a charming small painting of an astronaut executing an impressive Kung Fu sidekick! John Gianforte, Director of the UNH Observatory and Associate Extension Professor of Space Science Education worked closely with Rebecca Proctor of The Art Center to curate the show and guided many of his UNH students in choosing what images to submit. All of the work is for sale.
On Saturday May 14th visitors are invited to The Art Center to meet the contributing artists and photographers, many of whom are students at the University of New Hampshire, at a reception from 6 – 9 PM. Refreshments will be served.
A Window to the Universe will be on display at The Art Center during the month of May 2022. The Art Center is located at 1 Washington Street, Suite 1177 in Dover, New Hampshire. Visitors can view the work Monday – Friday 10 AM – 5 PM and Saturday 10 AM – 2 PM. Closed Sunday.
