Iron Pour & Open House at Sanctuary Arts

Family centered open house event at Sanctuary Arts in Eliot, Maine, features a scratch mold iron pour. Sand molds will be sold for $20 each. Create your own iron tile, check out the old church turned to art school, meet local artists, peruse the property’s sculpture garden. Bring a lunch (or we will have pizza slices, snacks and drinks for sale) and enjoy your community. From 11 – 1, carve into our tile sand molds for a fee of $20 per mold. All molds must be completed by 1pm. Hang out for a visual treat as Green Foundry members pour 2300 degree iron into your own scratch sand molds. When they cool off, tiles will be broken out of the molds and cleaned up. You are ready to take your tiles home to adorn your abode! All proceeds will benefit Sanctuary Arts’ new scholarship program. Sanctuary Arts strives to create an environment where arts education is not limited to those with financial security. We know that art classes are extracurricular for many and breaking down the financial barrier is our way of including more voices. So come and carve your own unique iron tile with us for a cause!
