“This show represents work created over the past 9 months. In those rare moments, when the landscape truly inspires me I remember it as a combination of colors.
As I start a painting I begin by covering the canvas with those colors watching for the shapes to form that describes the subject.
The last thing I do is the drawing. This process is how the painting stays open and fluid for the abstract qualities to emerge.
When I start a painting I choose a palette that describes a fleeting moment or mood to symbolize the experience that we all share when we glance at a landscape or still life and see its true beauty.”
