Grow More Weeds (and Eat Them Too!)
Not all weeds are garden villains! In this program, we’ll explore the many benefits of wild plants, from improving soil health to attracting beneficial insects. You’ll learn to identify which weeds are worth keeping, which should be removed, and which can be foraged for food and medicine. We’ll also discuss how weeds can protect against erosion and enhance biodiversity.
During the workshop, we will explore the edges of the gardens, observing the natural patterns of plant succession and growth so that we can bring some of these principles back to our own yards. We’ll also see what edibles are available to harvest this time of year.
