Solo Exhibition at The Art Center
The Art Center is pleased to present The Calendar Collection, a solo exhibition of black-and-white photography by Carol Van Loon, now on display through the end of August.
For more than two decades, Carol Van Loon has created an annual photographic calendar featuring images captured throughout New England and beyond. For this exhibition, one photograph representing each month was selected from the twenty-one calendars she has produced, creating a twelve-image collection that highlights the breadth and consistency of her work. Together, these photographs celebrate the changing seasons, the quiet beauty of everyday landscapes, and the timeless qualities that define her distinctive photographic style.
Working exclusively in black-and-white photography, Van Loon creates images that emphasize light, texture, atmosphere, and composition. From weathered boats and historic buildings to forests, gardens, rural landscapes, and iconic New England scenes, her photographs invite viewers to slow down and appreciate the beauty found in the world around them. Each image reflects her thoughtful eye for composition and her appreciation for the enduring character of the places she photographs.
A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, Van Loon has exhibited her work throughout New England and is recognized for her masterful use of black-and-white photography. Her long-term photographic projects explore landscape, architecture, and the passage of time, creating images that are both contemplative and visually compelling.
The Calendar Collection offers visitors an opportunity to experience a carefully curated selection of photographs spanning more than twenty years of creative work, celebrating the beauty of New England and the enduring power of fine art photography.
An Artist Reception is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from 6–9 PM. The public is warmly invited to meet the artist and celebrate this special exhibition.The Art Center
