Moran Tugboats
Sister Tugs, Portsmouth by Diana Nault

Since the 1930s, this pier on Ceres Street has been home to several 100-foot tugboats that guide tankers and other large commercial vessels safely through the Piscataqua River channel, which has one of swiftest and most difficult currents in the country.

Today, the tugs are owned by Moran Towing, which serves 16 ports, primarily on the East Coast. The Portsmouth office has its own management , dispatch and engineering functions.
