Music

If you like barbecue and you like country music, you’ll want to be in Rochester this weekend. The Phantom Gourmet BBQ & Country Music Festival takes place from Friday to Sunday, June 26 to 28, at Tri-City Arena on the Rochester Fairgrounds.

About 10 country acts will perform live music throughout the weekend, including Southern Drawl, Chicken Fry, Brandon LaPere, Brianna Grace, Caroline Lawlor, Walkin the Line, Jay Taylor, Darren Bessette, the Jandee Lee Porter Band, and Tim Charron.

There will also be a Country BBQ Cook-Off with teams from Australia to Texas. Other highlights include line dancing and lessons, kids’ activities, beer and wine gardens, a hot dog eating contest, mechanical bull riding competitions, racing pigs, and fireworks.

The festivities take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5; kids under 10 get in for free. For a full schedule and more information, visit festeventsne.com/events/51.
