It’s an exceptionally busy Monday morning in Portsmouth Harbor. The Golden Cecilie set sail from Sprague River Road and was promptly replaced by the Chem New Orleans. And the USS Manchester (above), the Navy’s newest littoral combat ship, is due at the New Hampshire State Pier around midday. U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, the USS Manchester’s official sponsor, will be present for the arrival, along with the ship’s crew. A commissioning ceremony follows on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. Learn more in the latest Port Watch.
