Matt Farley is an American singer-songwriter, musician, filmmaker, author and podcaster who has released more than 25,000 songs as of January 5, 2024. Farley’s creative output is released under his label Motern Media, and he usually presents his musical work under a variety of pseudonyms and band names, including the Toilet Bowl Cleaners, Papa Razzi and the Photogs, the Hungry Food Band, the Guy Who Sings Songs About Cities & Towns, and more.

In 2016, he performed “Used to Be a Pizza Hut” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he was recently profiled by the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times Magazine. Farley has now slowed down to producing one 50-song album per month, and he performs an annual five-and-a-half-hour concert “extravaganza” in Danvers, Massachusetts, where he now lives.

Thin Lear, the eclectic project of NJ-based songwriter Matt Longo, evokes the haunting storytelling and glimmering production of ’70s-era studio obsessives.

A Beach of Nightly Glory, the new EP produced by Matthew E. White (Natalie Prass) at Spacebomb Studio (out now via Metropolitan Groove Merchants), paints a textured picture of life’s chaotic beauty, with praise and features from Bandcamp Daily, Under the Radar, the Talkhouse, and PopMatters, with Chris Ingalls declaring it “…a superb showcase for Longo’s immense songwriting abilities…a throwback to the timeless compositions of artists like Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison, and David Berman.”

Thin Lear’s previous album, Wooden Cave, arrived on EggHunt Records (Lucy Dacus), receiving glowing reviews from KEXP, The Big Takeover, AllMusic, and PopMatters (Best Albums of the Year), along with a feature on NPR’s New Music Friday, with Robin Hilton calling the album “amazing.”

“[O]n par with the albums that inspired it: Leonard Cohen’s dark backroom soliloquies and the more bittersweet moments of Harry Nilsson’s drifty pop…a fantastic debut.”

– Fred Thomas on Wooden Cave, AllMusic (★★★★)

Bird Friend is a band from Portsmouth, New Hampshire & Somerville, Massachusetts.

Rooted in folk and DIY, Bird Friend’s sound also blends elements of punk, early psych and garage rock, slowcore and alt-country. Noted for its literate lyricism and unique guitar work, Bird Friend has been on the DIY scene for over ten years, performing in basements, bars, and clubs all over the United States.

Restless and experimental by nature, the band has collaborated with artists, musicians, and poets to create an identity that sounds like nothing else, yet is unmistakably theirs.

Niagara Moon, songwriter Thomas Erwin and others, specializes in mellow, lushly produced baroque indie-pop that combines the intricate melodies of Pet Sounds and Sgt. Pepper’s with the 21st century style of artists like Of Montreal and Belle & Sebastian. Their sound is often whimsical, poignant, sardonic, and mildly psychedelic.
