New Hampshire Theatre Project’s Elephant-in-the-Room Series presents The Time Before Goodbye: Navigating Eldercare.
Based on research and interviews with with caregivers, elders, healthcare providers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, municipal and state health agencies, and eldercare professionals and organizations throughout the state of New Hampshire, the film explores the labyrinthine process of Navigating Eldercare that we all must face in one way or another at some point in our lives. A powerful, personal, and informative piece, The Time Before Goodbye illuminates many of the myths currently surrounding eldercare, tackles misconceptions and misunderstandings of how our complicated healthcare systems work both for and against clients, highlights the difficulties both caregivers and patients face, and offers the understanding to both elders and caregivers that they are not alone, and that there are numerous resources available for help that most people do not know exist. As with all EITRS programs, we will have a post-screening discussion about the topic.
This Elephant-in-the-Room Series film presentation is sponsored by Elliott & Wendy Weiss, Jennifer Kinsey & John Bunker, and Kennebunk Savings Bank. The Time Before Goodbye was created in collaboration with Guiding Light Medicaid Consultant Barbara Barney, with funding support from the NH State Council on the Arts, the NH Bureau for Adults & Aging, and the Agnes Lindsay Trust.
This is a FREE ADMISSION EVENT, but registration is required.
