In Fall 2024, Guy Capecelatro III had a vivid dream in which his dream version of Mike Effenberger proposed that the two of them work together on a series of four records with an unusual set of rules: each record was to be released 3 months after the last and must be 8 tracks of 1-2 minutes each, with each track sung by a different person. Upon waking, Guy set a broad theme for each record (Gods, Devils, Love, and Death), called Mike, and began the work.
The resulting song cycle features 41 musicians as nearby as the Seacoast and as far away as Portland OR, Asheville NC, and Brooklyn NY, with lyrics by Guy Capecelatro III and music by Guy and Mike Effenberger. The result is an uncanny intersection of indie, singer songwriter, chamber pop, lo fi / bedroom, and electronic music that creates a musical world all its own.
This record release event will be a silent full album listen via wireless headphones (included with donation) with a run time from 7pm-8pm.
