The Maddoc Johnson band is a Boston based group of musicians who share a love for improvisation and folk traditions. With original compositions as well as arrangements of folk songs, this group synthesizes the influences of early rural blues music, Ornette Coleman, Big Thief, R.L. Burnside, and many others. The band contains members from New Hampshire, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas.
