Dylan Patrick Ward is a folk misfit from Vermont’s “dirty south,” known for his poignant storytelling and irreverent sense of humor. Equal parts country-folk troubadour and indie-rock weirdo, Ward’s songs weave stories of outcasts, oddballs, and people on the brink — capturing humanity in all its flawed, funny glory. His offbeat lyrical wit has earned him comparisons to John Prine, Randy Newman, and The Mountain Goats.
A rising figure in the modern folk scene, Ward has been featured in the Monday Discovery Series at Club Passim and the Emerging Artist Showcase at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Bill Callahan, Guy Davis, Jeffrey Lewis, and Peter Mulvey. His latest album, Ne’er-Do-Wells, is streaming everywhere now.
Sharing the stage is Scott Heron, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in the Portsmouth, NH area. Heron has been part of a wide range of contemporary and traditional folk, bluegrass, and Americana projects, performing both solo and in acts such as The Treetellers and Big Sweetie. His duo Green Heron has been featured across New Hampshire, including on NH Public Radio, NH Chronicle, and in NH Magazine. A former metal musician turned banjo devotee, Heron blends his musical roots into heartfelt, finely crafted songs that bridge the old and the new.
Rounding out the bill is Emily Butler, a Seacoast NH vocalist and multi-instrumentalist best known for fronting the dark-twang ensemble Bitter Pill alongside her father, Billy Butler. With a voice that moves from theatrical bite to torchy warmth, Butler brings a singular blend of folk, blues, and Americana to the stage. Her performances balance emotional depth with magnetic presence, offering a distinctive sound that’s as haunting as it is heartfelt.
