Talent and talons at The Word Barn

There’s a whole lotta fun to be had at The Word Barn this weekend. Ward Hayden & The Outliers (formerly Girls Guns & Glory) make their Exeter debut on Friday from 7-9 p.m. ($25). Tailwinds educators bring some local raptors to the barn for Owls of New England on Saturday at 1 p.m. ($25). The Ballroom Thieves celebrate a new single with two performances on Saturday, an early show from 5-7 p.m. and a later show from 8-10 p.m. ($30). It’s a packed weekend at the Newmarket Millspace, too. UNH-based cover band Two Hour Parking headlines with upbeat rockers Tumble Over and metal group Amara on Friday at 7 p.m. ($10). False Portrait plays original songs and classic covers on Saturday at 7 p.m. ($10). The Dance Hall in Kittery is hosting three shows in three nights. First up is Erica Brown & The Bluegrass Connection on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ($10-$25). There are some exciting shows taking place at WSCA Radio in Portsmouth. High-energy indie rockers Twothousands headline with Sooflay and Gunshot Glitter on Friday at 8 p.m. ($10-$15). Just in time for 4/20, The Stone Church’s own house Grateful Dead tribute band returns for two nights of live music in Newmarket. Rescue Run for Marine Mammals

Make a run for healthy sea creatures on Saturday. The Seacoast Science Center will host its 16th annual Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals starting at 9 a.m. from Odiorne Point State Park in Rye. Expand your rock ‘n’ roll education with two music films at The Music Hall on Saturday. The Portsmouth theater will screen “Neil Young: Coastal” at 4 p.m. (and twice more on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.). “Rude Boy,” which merges documentary and fiction and features The Clash, will be screened at 7 p.m. Tickets are $14-$16.

Into the Floyd at The Rockingham Ballroom

Ever wish you could go back in time and experience one of Pink Floyd’s intimate early shows? Or one of their later grandiose concerts?
