The long weekend brings theater, music, art, and more to Seacoast venues. Here are some notable happenings.

“Forever Plaid” at the Seacoast Rep

Relive some of the biggest pop hits of the 1950s on stage at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre. The rock musical “Forever Plaid” is on stage in Portsmouth from Jan. 15-Feb. 15. Opening show times are Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $47-$81. Learn more here.

Live concerts at Jimmy’s

Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in Portsmouth starts the weekend with a rare and intimate evening of acoustic music featuring the trio of Tim O’Brien, Sam Grisman, and Victor Furtado on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer, and producer Bill Laurance follows on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Lots of live music at The Press Room

Get into some soulful, dynamic, funky rhythms when Telula headlines with opener Harsh at The Press Room in Portsmouth on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ($20-$25). Local jam band Slack Tide takes the stage with guest Pardon the Spins on Saturday at 6 p.m. ($15-$20), followed by a DJ set with LZRD PPL at 10 p.m. ($10). Learn more here.

Two live shows at WSCA Radio

With a new EP in hand, high-energy pop band Hurricane Fordy kicks off its New England tour at WSCA Radio in Portsmouth on Friday at 8 p.m. ($10-$15). Bunny Wonderland is celebrating her 20th anniversary as a performer with the New Hampshire premiere of her new drag-theater show. Set at her Portland apartment, “Think of the Children!” is on stage at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30. Learn more here.

Rock shows at The Stone Church

The Stone Church is hosting another full weekend of live music in Newmarket. Local jam band Amulus will kick things off on Friday at 8 p.m. ($15-$20). Then, eight-piece Boston-based tribute act Little Lies will play chart-topping hits and deep cuts by Fleetwood Mac on Saturday at 8 p.m. ($25-$30).

Art and music at The Word Barn

Join artist Molly C. Meng for an Amulet Cosaint Workshop at The Word Barn in Exeter on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and learn how to create your own tiny tactile talismans ($75). Winter exhibit at the Kittery Art Association

In the darkness of winter, the cycle of the earth begins. Area artists explore that theme in “Winter, A Study of White and Blue,” on view at the Kittery Art Association from Jan. 15 through Feb. 8.
