‘The Nutcracker’ at STAR Theatre

The Dance Annex is kicking off the holiday season with its spectacular production of “The Nutcracker,” which returns to STAR Theatre in the Kittery Community Center from Nov. 25 to Dec. 4. Show times this weekend are Friday and Saturday from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Tickets are $25-$33. Learn more here.

‘The Adventures of Sleepyhead’ at the Ring

Award-winning local artist Gemma Soldati will perform her charming, hilarious, interactive solo show “The Adventures of Sleepyhead” for one special weekend at The Players’ Ring in Portsmouth. Show times are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $17-$27. Learn more here.

Post-Thanksgiving concerts at The Stone Church

Soulful local band Truffle brings its annual post-Thanksgiving Turkey Jam back to The Stone Church in Newmarket on Friday from 8-11 p.m. ($15). Also at the Church this weekend, Rhode Island-based tribute act Forever Young plays songs from throughout the catalog of the great Neil Young on Saturday from 8-11 p.m. ($15). Learn more here.

Punk show on the Button Factory Stage

Maine-based rockers the Milk Street Band are touring on behalf of their new album, “Spaced,” and they’ll perform on the Button Factory Stage at WSCA Portsmouth Community Radio during a punk show with local guests Doug, Grub Lord, and Lake Over Fire on Saturday from 7-11 p.m. Bring your earplugs! Crazy Maggy at The Dance Hall

Guitarist and fiddler EJ Ouellette brings his all-star roots band Crazy Maggy back to The Dance Hall in Kittery on Saturday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Featuring talented band mates Carol Coronis, Pete Whitehead, Steve Baker, and Ray Himmer Jr., the group will play Acadian, Celtic, and Appalachian tunes.
