A roundup of Thanksgiving weekend entertainment on the Seacoast

The extended five-day weekend begins Wednesday night, and for those who aren’t traveling for Thanksgiving, there are plenty of ways to entertain yourself on the Seacoast. Here are some highlights.

Warren Miller’s Face of Winter

Recent snowstorms have driven home the cold reality that winter is nearly upon us. But that’s no cause for dismay. For 69 years, Warren Miller Entertainment has celebrated the start of the snowy season with a new ski movie. Although Miller died in January, this year is no exception. The Music Hall in Portsmouth concludes a three-day run of “Face of Winter” with two screenings on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 6 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $23.50; learn more here.

Kingdom’s Holiday Food Drive

Local hip-hop collective Kingdom turns holiday giving into a can’t-miss event with its annual food-drive concert and party. This year’s headliner is New Fame, a world-traveling duo that has shared stages with Redman, Talib Kweli, The Pharcyde, and many others. Local rapper Uncle Sam opens at Portsmouth Book and Bar on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7, or $5 with the donation of two non-perishable food items for End 68 Hours of Hunger. The Mallett Brothers Band

Mallett Brothers Press Room

Those who had tickets to see The Mallett Brothers Band at The Press Room in October had to put their plans on hold after the Portsmouth pub briefly delayed its grand reopening and postponed the show. But the Portland, Maine-based alt-country rockers will take The Press Room’s new stage on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 9 p.m. The band, now in its 10th year of touring, released its latest album, “Vive l’Acadie,” earlier this year. Tickets are $15-$18; learn more here.
