Owl Prowl at The Word Barn Meadow

Jane Kelly and Sarah Kern of On The Wing return to The Word Barn Meadow in Exeter on Friday from 4:30-6 p.m. They’ll introduce guests to some live native owls and discuss their ecology and adaptations before leading a short stroll to the Raynes Farm to call for wild owls. Concerts at The Stone Church

Three days, three concerts at The Stone Church in Newmarket. An assemblage of local musicians play classics by Jerry Garcia Band on Friday at 9 p.m. ($20). Truffle celebrates Party Gras with help from some horn players on Saturday at 8 p.m. ($25). The Chickenshack Bluegrass Band performs on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. ($12). Learn more here.

There are two highly anticipated concerts at The Word Barn in Exeter this weekend. Boston-based roots-rockers The Ballroom Thieves play two duo shows on Saturday from 5-6:30 p.m. and 8-9:30 p.m.($25). And, after a two-year delay, folk-rock favorites David Wax Museum play a trio show on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. ($25). Learn more here.

Rakish at The Dance Hall

Maura Shawn Scanlin is a U.S. Scottish Fiddle Champion and Glenfiddich Fiddle Competition winner. Conor Hearn is a Boston-based guitar player and teacher. As Rakish, the duo explores Irish, Scottish, and American folk traditions. They’ll be at The Dance Hall in Kittery on Saturday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. Learn more here.

Everything Is Terrible at The Press Room

It’s hard to describe Everything Is Terrible. The video and performance collective produces endless videos, films, live shows, and immersive installations. And they have collected 35,000 VHS copies of “Jerry Maguire.” They’ll bring their Kidz Klub Tour to The Press Room in Portsmouth on Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18. Learn more here.
