Craft Beer Week
Presented by Brew NH and the Granite State Brewers Association, the third annual New Hampshire Craft Beer Week takes place March 31 to April 8. More than 70 events are planned across the state, including pairings, tastings, tours, demonstrations, and more, all celebrating the Granite State’s 63 licensed breweries and 10 distributor facilities. Among the local highlights is an All NH Craft Beverage Tap Takeover at Earth Eagle Brewings in Portsmouth. For more info, click here.
Intelligent Theatre Festival

New Hampshire Theatre Project’s fifth annual festival of play readings and discussion returns to Portsmouth this weekend. On Friday, March 31, at 7 p.m., Kate Kirkwood directs Mary Ellen Hedrick’s “Throw Away People,” and Crystal Gould directs “The New Abnormal,” by students from NHTP’s Teen Playwriting Intensive. On Saturday at 7 p.m., Genevieve Aichele directs Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People.” On Sunday at 2 p.m., CJ Lewis directs Jon Robin Baitz’s “Other Desert Cities.” Tickets are $10, available here.
Guy’s CD release show
Singer-songwriter Guy Capecelatro III, a longtime staple of the Seacoast music scene, is set to unveil his latest album, “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers.” Capecelatro’s friends will join him at The Music Hall Loft in Portsmouth on Friday, March 31, at 8 p.m. to play his new songs, inspired largely by the experience of confronting his wife Pam’s illness. Portland, Maine-based singer-songwriter and cellist Jerusha Robinson opens. The show is free, but RSVPs are requested here.
Meet the Beast
Acoustic, double-neck guitar player Ian Ethan Case brings his confounding sounds to Portsmouth Book & Bar on Friday, March 31, from 8-10 p.m. The gig is part of Case’s Meet the Beast Tour, a reference to his new custom instrument, affectionately known as The Beast. One Billion Rising
The One Billion Rising Gala: An Evening of Dance, is part of a global mass action to end violence against women and girls. This year’s event, presented by the Neoteric Dance Collaborative, returns to The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Sunday, April 2, at 7 p.m. Dancers and musicians from across the region will share the stories of survivors and explore global challenges.
