Busy weekend at The Word Barn

Following a Thursday night performance by The Tannahill Weavers from 7-9 p.m. ($28), Boston folk-rock favorite the Adam Ezra Group settles in for two shows at The Word Barn in Exeter on Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. and 8-9:30 p.m. ($49). Then, on Saturday, The Word Barn kicks off its Orchard Concert Series at The Orchard Chapel in Hampton Falls with the Apple Hill String Quartet from 6-7:30 p.m. ($35). Learn more here.

Take your money and run to the Kittery Community Center this weekend. The Space Cowboys, a five-piece tribute to the Steve Miller Band, will play decades’ worth of hits live on stage at STAR Theatre on Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20-$25 general admission, or $30-$35 for reserved table seating. “The Rocky Horror Show” at Millspace

For one more weekend, Dive In Productions is bringing Richard O’Brien’s cult classic “The Rocky Horror Show” to the Millspace in Newmarket, and there will be some special surprises. Strange Days at The Stone Church

Fresh off the release of a new album, Boston rock band Strange Machines is hosting a two-day party at The Stone Church in Newmarket. The lineup for the third edition of Strange Days includes sets by Strange Machines with The Hot Chocheys and The Edd on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ($20-$25), and with Residual Groove, Lee Ross, and Fox & the Flamingos on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ($30-$35). Sketch comedy at N.H. Theatre Project

One week before its mainstage season begins with “The Shark Is Broken,” New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth is hosting a night of local sketch comedy. “Young Frankenstein” at the ROH

Horror and humor collide in a hilarious musical parody coming to the Rochester Opera House this month. Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” will be on stage from Oct. 10-Nov. 1; show times for opening weekend are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are $28-$32.
