It’s going to be a festive late-summer weekend on the Seacoast. Here are some highlights.
Hampton Beach Seafood Festival

More than 50 Seacoast restaurants will serve up seafood delicacies during the annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival on Friday from 12-9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. There will also be craft vendors, merchants, chef demonstrations, live music, fireworks, and more. Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth Tour

Explore nine enchanting gardens in the Lafayette Park neighborhood and meet local garden educators during the 34th Annual Pocket Gardens of Portsmouth Tour on Friday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Presented by South Church, the event is part of the Portsmouth NH 400 celebration. New exhibits at 3S Artspace

The Gallery at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth is opening two new exhibits with a joint reception on Friday from 5-8 p.m. “As Above, So Below” features indigo dye works by Davana Robedee. “TESTSET” showcases transparent folded figure sculptures and accompanying artifact prints by Shaina Gates. Both artists will be present at the reception.
‘Deathtrap’ at The Players’ Ring

The Players’ Ring kicks off its 2023-2024 season with Ira Levin’s thriller comedy “Deathtrap,” about a playwright with a devious plan to steal a student’s script. It’s on stage in Portsmouth from Sept. 8-24. Show times are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15-$28. Learn more here.
‘The Mad Ones’ at Millspace

“The Mad Ones” — a new musical about two girls in a car overcoming their grief — has inspired a bestselling cast album, thousands of performance videos, and viral fan art. It’s on stage at Newmarket Millspace from Sept. 8-17. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25. Learn more here.
Echoes of Floyd at The Stone Church

Last weekend, The Music Hall screened a new documentary about Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett. This weekend, you may hear some of Barrett’s songs (and others from throughout Floyd’s vast catalog) when tribute act Echoes of Floyd performs live at The Stone Church in Newmarket on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15. A Celebration of The Shaw Brothers

The Prescott Park Arts Festival’s final concert of the season is A Celebration of The Shaw Brothers, honoring an iconic folk band that played often in Portsmouth for decades. Tony V at McCue’s Comedy Club

Legendary Boston comic Tony V has appeared in such films as “Daddy’s Home 2,” “The Heat,” “The Town,” and “HouseSitter,” as well TV series like “Seinfeld,” “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist,” and “Louie.” You can catch him live at McCue’s Comedy Club in Portsmouth on Saturday from 8-9 p.m. Tickets are $20. Two concerts at The Dance Hall

Acoustic duo Rakish (above) plays traditional Irish and Scottish music with a unique slant at The Dance Hall in Kittery on Friday from 8-9:30 p.m. ($17-$22). Steely Dan tribute act Power Money Cake follows on Saturday from 8-9:30 p.m., playing the albums “Katy Lied” and “Aja” in their entirety, and more ($17-$22). Learn more here.
Krewe de Groove at Crows’ Feat Farm

The final show in Crows’ Feat Farm’s summer concert series is gonna be a hot one. Funk, soul, jam, and roots-rock band Krewe de Groove performs live on the lawn (or in the barn, if it rains) in Kensington on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. ($10-$20).
