Saint Patrick’s Day weekend is loaded with activities on the Seacoast. Here are some highlights.
Concerts at The Stone Church
The weekend is packed with music at The Stone Church in Newmarket. Tribute band Church of Cash starts things off on Friday from 6-8 p.m. ($20). The Realizations Tour follows at 9 p.m. with electro-soul act Pi Wrecks and some guests ($15). Singer-songwriter Caroline Cotter and composer-performer Ben Cosgrove split the bill on Saturday from 7-10 p.m. ($15). The Jordan TW Trio plays Celtic tunes on Sunday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. ($20). Andrew Donnelly in Portsmouth
Comedian, actor, and writer Andrew Donnelly, who has appeared on Comedy Central, “The Late Late Show,” “Archer,” “Maron,” and more, will be in Portsmouth for three sets this weekend. He’ll perform at Rio Tequila Cantina on Friday at 7 p.m. and at McCue’s Comedy Club on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. Learn more here.
‘Dearly Earned’ at Pontine Theatre
Pontine Theatre joins the Portsmouth 400 celebration with “Dearly Earned” at The Plains School from March 17-26. The original production is based on the city’s 19th century industrial history and the lives of its workers. ‘A Doll’s House, Part 2’ at STAR Theatre
Henrik Ibsen’s 1879 classic “A Doll’s House” got a sequel in 2017, and its coming to Kittery. Presented by Threshold Stage Company, Lucas Hnath’s Tony-winning comedy “A Doll’s House, Part 2” is at STAR Theatre March 17-April 2. St. Patrick’s Day at the Gas Light
The Portsmouth Gas Light Co. will celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with some good ole fashioned blarney in its Third Floor Night Club on Friday at 8 p.m. Two deejays will keep the beat and a Jameson promo team will be on hand while guests enjoy swag giveaways, raffle prizes, and more. Saint Borscht at Book & Bar
For one night only, Newmarket-based bluegrass band Borscht will become Saint Borscht! The eclectic acoustic quartet, which performs classics and originals, will put a Celtic twist on its folk, jazz, and bluegrass tunes in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day at Portsmouth Book & Bar on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12. Dancing at The Rockingham Ballroom
The Rockingham Ballroom invites you to dust off your dancing shoes and head out to Newmarket this weekend. DJ Joey C. will play Irish and British hits during a St. Patty’s Day Dance on Friday from 8-11 p.m. ($15). A Singles Dance Party with lessons, games, prizes, and a guest DJ follows on Saturday at 7 p.m. ($20). Learn more here.
Soggy Po’ Boys at The Dance Hall
Although seating is available, dancing is encouraged when the Soggy Po’ Boys return to the stage of The Dance Hall in Kittery on Saturday night. Kat Wright at Jimmy’s
Singer-songwriter Kat Wright has risen from her roots in Vermont to become a regional favorite and an acclaimed national touring act. Described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse,” she’ll bring her band to Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in Portsmouth for a concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$40. Learn more here.
Das Pintos at Newburyport Brewing Co.
The folks at Newburyport Brewing Co. know how to do two things: brew great beer and throw a great party. They’ll host seven-piece funk band Das Pintos — featuring brewery cofounder Chris Webb on lead vocals — on Saturday from 8-11 p.m. Tickets are $10, with proceeds supporting earthquake disaster relief in Turkey.
