Music and birds at The Word Barn

Following a pre-weekend performance from the Montreal Guitar Trio on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. ($25), Whiskey Treaty Roadshow returns to The Word Barn in Exeter on Friday from 7-9 p.m. ($30). Andrea Von Kampen plays an intimate album release show on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. ($25), and the next installment of Owls of New England follows on Sunday from 3-4 p.m. ($25). Learn more here.

Dance your way into the weekend with 603 Line Dance as they guide you through Country Swing and Two-Step at The Rockingham Ballroom in Newmarket on Thursday at 7 p.m. ($25). The instructors return for their monthly night of Line Dancing lessons on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by open dancing ($15). Loads of music at The Press Room

Even by The Press Room’s high standards, there’s an exceedingly stellar lineup of live music at the legendary Portsmouth venue. Local rock septet The TonyMack Band gets things started on Friday at 7 p.m. ($15-$20) before the NFT Boyz present Hot Tub Time Machine at 10 p.m. ($10). On Saturday at 1 p.m., a special Celtic Cession celebrates St. Paddy’s ($12-$15). The Continuum Arts Collective presents The Last Waltz on Saturday at 6 p.m., and again on Sunday at 12 p.m. ($25-$35). THEN, Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer Randy Brecker and saxophonist Ada Rovatti (pictured) settle in for a pair of performances at 5:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ($30-$37). Learn more here.

Upside Arts: The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Join Quasimodo in the heart of Paris as Upside Arts presents its unique adaptation of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel, the musical is on stage at Somersworth High School from March 13-22; show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $19-$25. The talented queens of Not Yer Mama’s Drag Co. return to WSCA Portsmouth Community Radio for a special Friday the 13th performance on the Button Factory Stage on Friday at 8 p.m. ($10-$15). Formed in the early 1970s, legendary jam band Max Creek is now well into its sixth decade. During that time they’ve collaborated with and opened for artists and members of acts like the Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, Jefferson Airplane, Talking Heads, The Band, Phish, and others. Green Glow Party at the Gas Light

The Portsmouth Gas Light Co.’s Third Floor Nightclub will be aglow in electric neon green during its annual St. Paddy’s celebration on Saturday at 9 p.m. The Green Glow Party will feature hot music and a long lineup of night-of surprises. The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra’s winter concert will be full of color and contrast.
