The Portsmouth arts festival's lineup includes acts new and old

With a diverse mix of new and returning acts, the Prescott Park Arts Festival’s 2016 River House Restaurant Concert Series promises to attract big crowds to Portsmouth’s waterside park this summer.

The festival unveiled its concert lineup in an email Friday morning and at prescottpark.org. Highlights include first-time PPAF performers like The Tallest Man on Earth, Shovels & Rope, and The Felice Brothers, as well as returning favorites like Yonder Mountain String Band, The Wood Brothers, and Taj Mahal. Bela Fleck, who brought a huge audience to the park last summer for a performance with his wife Abigail Washburn, returns this year with Nickel Creek member Chris Thile.

PPAF had previously announced that its summer musical will be The Little Mermaid. There will also be several music and food festivals during the season.

As always, admission to park events is by voluntary donation. Table and blanket reservations for all shows are available at the festival website, or by calling 603-436-2848.
