Lee seeks commemorative license plates

News

The Lee Police and Lee Fire Associations are seeking designs for a commemorative license plate to mark the town’s 250th anniversary in 2016. The associations are asking Lee residents to design a license plate “that is representative of the town’s history.” The winning design will be used on the plates, which can be purchased and used throughout 2016. Residents will be able to use the plate on their cars only as a front license plate.

The design must be a freehand illustration done without any shadowing. The town’s 250th Anniversary Planning Committee will choose the winning design. Plates are expected to go on sale at the end of this year, and the cost will be determined when a design is chosen. Entries will be accepted through Feb. 27 and can be emailed to [email protected] or brought to the police department at 20 George Bennett Road. — Larry Clow
