Forums scheduled for power line project

News

Seacoast residents can comment on a proposed 13-mile long power line project that will run through Madbury, Durham, Newington, and Portsmouth at two public meetings this month. The first meeting takes place on April 22 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Oyster River High School, located at 55 Coe Drive in Durham.

Eversource, the energy company formerly known as Public Service of New Hampshire, plans to construct a 115kV transmission line from Madbury to a substation in Portsmouth.

At the April 22 open house, representatives from Eversource and the state’s Site Evaluation Committee, which approves energy projects, will be on hand to answer questions and hear public comments.

A second open house will take place on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Newington Town Hall, 205 Nimble Hill Road, Newington. — Larry Clow
