Experience historic and beautiful Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse with your own private group!
For the 2026 season, a limited number of time slots have been reserved for private tours of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.
From 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the lighthouse will be reserved exclusively for your group. You and up to nine guests will enjoy a private, docent-led tour with no other tour guests present—just your group and your guide during the golden hour at one of the Seacoast’s most iconic locations.
For $350, this one-of-a-kind experience is perfect for family or wedding photographs, an engagement celebration, a graduation or thank-you gift, or simply an unforgettable evening with friends and family.
You will be met at the gate to Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor and escorted to the lighthouse. Docents will be on hand to tell you about the light station and its history, and all guests will be invited to climb to the top for a sweeping view of the area around the mouth of the Piscataqua River.
This special opportunity is being offered as a fundraiser, with proceeds helping to offset the cost of ongoing lighthouse repairs. Availability is extremely limited, so early reservations are encouraged.
Please note that access to the lighthouse includes two short (seven steps) stairways and a walk of about 60 feet across a flat, stony beach. Proper footwear is required – no sandals, flip-flops, or high heels. The minimum height to climb the lighthouse is 42 inches.
