Dover preserves early records

News

If you’re wondering what was happening in Dover between 1657 and 1807, the city clerk’s office may be able to help you out. City records from those years were recently digitized and preserved through a $9,800 grant from the state. The three volumes of documents were recovered in 2008 and contain tax records, voting results, meeting information, and other records of city business. The documents can be found on the city’s website at dover.nh.gov. The original documents can also be viewed by special arrangement with the city clerk’s office. — Larry Clow
