Board dismisses charges against FairPoint

News

The National Labor Relations Board has dismissed unfair labor practice charges filed against telecommunications company FairPoint Communications by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Communication Workers of America.

The NLRB’s decision is the latest chapter in an ongoing contract dispute between the unions and FairPoint. Approximately 1,800 FairPoint workers in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont went on strike on Oct. 17. On Dec. 23, New Hampshire’s executive council delayed a vote on extending the state’s contract with FairPoint through 2020. — Larry Clow
