Town administrator Todd Selig announced last week that the town has closed on the sale of the former Durham town hall for $650,000. According to Selig, the buyer, William Salas, plans to redevelop the 15 Newmarket Road property and may invest more than $500,000 in the project.
Money from the sale will offset the cost of the new town hall building, located across the street from the former town offices. The town will continue to use 10 parking spaces located on the land and, according to Selig, Salas has agreed to lease parking spaces behind the building to Durham Village Garage. — LC
