Holiday movies at The Music Hall

The Music Hall will be screening holiday films for all ages at its historic theater in Portsmouth this weekend. Friday features “A Miracle on 34th Street” (1947) at 1 p.m. and “Love Actually” at 7 p.m. Saturday includes “Arthur Christmas” at 1 p.m. and “Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights” at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5-$15. Kandace Springs at Jimmy’s

Jazz and soul musician Kandace Springs “has a voice that could melt snow,” according to late musical icon Prince, who recruited her into his band. The acclaimed singer and pianist will return to Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in Portsmouth to play two back-to-back sets on Friday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10-$60. Learn more here.

‘Abby Holidays’ at Book & Bar

Local indie-pop singer-songwriter Abrielle Scharff is returning to Portsmouth Book & Bar to play her fifth annual holiday show. She’ll perform her own stunning renditions of your favorite seasonal songs (plus some bad jokes and lots of love) on Thursday from 8-10 p.m. and Friday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. ‘A Christmas Story’ at the Rep

There’s just one date left in the Seacoast Repertory Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Story: The Musical,” and fittingly, it happens two days before Christmas.
