Holiday-related activity dominates the Seacoast scene this weekend. There’s no escaping it, so we’re highlighting five of the most intriguing holiday events coming to a site near you.

Home for the Holidays

Patrick Dorow Productions’ “Broadway in Kittery” series brings a holiday extravaganza to the stage of Star Theatre. Running through Dec. 23, “Home for the Holidays” is a Broadway-style musical featuring a cast of more than 45 local performers. Show times are Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20-$27, available here.

Ed Gerhard’s Christmas Guitar Concert

For three and a half decades, Grammy-winning guitar maestro Ed Gerhard has been spreading holiday cheer with his annual Christmas concert. The New Hampshire-based acoustic guitarist will present his 35th annual Christmas Guitar Concerts on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., at South Church in downtown Portsmouth. “Sojoyful” Holiday Jazz Jam

Sojoy Sojoyful Holiday Jazz Jam

Special guest vocalist Stu Dias (of Soggy Po’ Boys fame) joins local jazz ensemble Sojoy for a joyful jazz jam at The Dance Hall in Kittery on Friday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. They’ll perform their own signature takes on some holiday favorites, as well as lesser known tunes for the season. GreenVibe Entertainment Holiday Party

People Like You

For a rocking psychedelic holiday concert, head to The Stone Church in Newmarket on Friday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. Local bands People Like You, Stop Tito Collective, and The Tercet will perform at the GreenVibe Entertainment Holiday Party. Vintage Christmas Candlelight Stroll

Vintage Christmas Candlelight Stroll

Since 1979, Strawbery Banke Museum’s annual Candlelight Stroll has been a holiday highlight in Portsmouth. Lighted candle lanterns illuminate the grounds as guests visit decorated historic homes, meet costumed role players, listen to holiday music, and enjoy a bonfire. This year’s final strolls are Saturday, Dec. 16, from 5-9 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 17, from 4-8 p.m. For prices and tickets, click here.
