DESCRIPTION:The Hoot is back! Kick off the 2026-2027 season with us at Laney & Lu on September 2. Our featured readers are Chloe Yelena Miller & Meghan Sterling. \nChloe Yelena Miller is a writer and teacher living in Washington\, D.C.\, with her partner and child. She’s the author of Perforated (2026) and Viable (2021)\, both published by Lily Poetry Review Books\, as well as the poetry chapbook Unrest (Finishing Line Press\, 2013). Her work has been featured in places such as Calyx\, Kenyon Review\, Poet Lore\, The Slowdown\, and Tupelo Quarterly. She co-founded and co-directs Brown Bag Lit\, an online writing community. Miller teaches creative writing and literature through Brown Bag Lit\, Politics and Prose bookstore\, and New Directions in Writing\, as well as privately. Miller has a BA in Italian language and literature from Smith College (1998) and an MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College (2003). www.chloeyelenamiller.com \nMeghan Sterling (she/her/hers) is a working mother living in Maine whose poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Tahoma Literary Review\, the Los Angeles Review\, the Colorado Review\, Rhino Poetry\, Hunger Mountain and many other journals.
