ONLINE Ikebana Demonstration
Tuesday July 14 | 6 – 8 PM

Fascinated by Japanese flower arranging? Tune in to a live demonstration of Ikenobo Ikebana on Zoom, hosted by Portsmouth Public Library. Learn about the principles behind the art of Ikebana, from the Kittery Point Ikenobo Chapter.

This event is free and open to all. No registration required.
Look for a virtual exhibit video of Ikebana arrangements by members of the chapter, on the library’s social media the week of the demo!

Ikebana is a way to express one’s feelings with each individual flower.

Many different Ikebana styles have appeared during the 550 years of Ikebana history. They each have a distinctive character and are arranged with a particular form or pattern in mind. However, awareness of natural beauty allows the arranger to gradually approach the ideal beauty which Ikebana seeks.
The Kittery Point Ikenobo Chapter is sponsoring this event and welcomes you to its celebration of this centuries-old floral art form. The Kittery Point Chapter is affiliated with the Ikenobo Headquarters in Kyoto, Japan.
