How to Turn Your Idea into a Novel: Linking Theme, Plot, and Character

McConnell Community Center
32 St. Thomas St.
Dover, NH 03801
United States

Story ideas are a dime a dozen, but the process of turning an idea into a long-form project, with characters, plot, and theme, requires tools beyond inspiration. This six-week course will combine lecture with in-class and out-of-class exercises to give students techniques for taking the seed of a novel idea and growing into a full-fledged plan. This class is appropriate for students at any level or step of novel writing. Whether you just have the first glimmerings of an idea or a full, finished draft, this class will help you take your novel to the next stage of development.
