SUMMARY:Narratives of Coexistence: A Conversation with Yahya Mahamid at 3S Artspace
DESCRIPTION:Narratives of Coexistence:\nA Conversation with Yahya Mahamid\nThursday\, September 11\nDoors 6:30pm / Event 7pm\n$10 General admission \nOrganized by The Jewish Federation of NH and Temple Israel Portsmouth in partnership with 3S Artspace: \nJoin us for a live narrative experience featuring Yahya Mahamid—an Israeli-Arab\, and educator. \nIn this deeply personal evening\, Yahya will share his life’s journey from growing up in Umm al-Fahm with hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people\, to his transformative path of confronting misinformation\, embracing coexistence\, and dedicating his life to fostering dialogue and understanding. \nThis event invites the audience into Yahya’s story—not as a lecture\, but as a first-person narrative that seeks to challenge assumptions and humanize complex identities. This is an opportunity to witness storytelling as a form of social reflection and contemporary art\, offering a lens into issues of identity\, belonging\, and the power of personal transformation. \nAn audience Q&A will follow the presentation\, and there will be a pop-up shop with local and Israeli artists’ goods throughout the evening. \n\nIn alignment with our mission\, 3S Artspace is committed to presenting diverse perspectives and encouraging lively discourse through the lens of contemporary arts experiences. The views and opinions expressed during this event are those of the speaker and do not necessarily reflect the views\, values\, or positions of 3S Artspace as an organization. \n\nThis event does not constitute an endorsement\, recommendation\, nor verification by JFNH of views expressed and information shared therein. \n\n3S Artspace is supported in part by grants from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts; the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and NHCF’s Geoffrey E. Clark and Martha Fuller Clark Fund; and Little Bay Fund. \nThank you to our lead sponsors: AC Hotel Portsmouth\, The Brook\, The Kane Company/Tidemark\, Katzman Contemporary Projects\, MacEdge\, Raka\, Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel and Stirling Brandworks.
