Mixtape /ˈmikstāp/ noun: A compilation of favorite pieces of music, typically by different artists, recorded onto a cassette tape or other medium by an individual.
This is the essence of the NH Seacoast a cappella group, [mix]tape.
Established in 2015, a small group of Dover-based rag-tag musicians decided to forgo instruments and instead recreate their favorite tunes using only their voices and sweet, sweet harmonies. Currently, the group consists of 9 vocalists from all over the NH seacoast area.
Through the style of a cappella, [mix]tape aims to take their audiences on a musical journey that spans multiple artists, genres, and decades. With songs by the Beatles, Billy Joel, Amy Winehouse, Shakira, and more, get ready to tap into your nostalgia, have your heartstrings pulled, and get your groove on – all in one evening.
