Learn something new about the critters, seabirds, and plants that share our coastal ecosystem at the Land, Air, and Sea series at Creek Farm this summer. We’re teaming up with the Shoals Marine Laboratory to offer a workshop series featuring research faculty from Shoals Marine Lab, the University of New Hampshire, and UMass Boston. Creek Farm is a coastal hideaway bordering featuring trails, a historic farm, and a man-made tidal pool on the shoreline of tidal Sagamore Creek in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Come discover something new about local flora and fauna in the Seacoast region!
The final event in the series is a boat ride to learn about Marine Mammals with Dr. Nadine Lysiak, Faculty at Shoals Marine Lab and UMass Boston and Research Associate for the New England Aquarium. Dr. Lysiak’s research focuses on large whales and she teaches courses on ecology and evolution as well as marine mammals. Come with questions and be prepared to hear about the amazing whales that frequent the waters off shore from Portsmouth.
Cost: This event costs $40 for Forest Society members and $50 for non-members and is limited to 20 passengers. Please register online here.
Location: Meet at Creek Farm, 400 Little Harbor Road in Portsmouth, NH at 9:45 a.m. (boat leaves at 10 a.m.). We will return by 1:00 p.m.
