DESCRIPTION:Watercolor / Zentangle Designs – Two Part Workshop with Joyce Amend\n \nSaturdays: June 7 and June 17 from 10:30am-1:00pm\n \nThe Kittery Art Association Art Hub (Lower Level Studio Space)\n \n2 Walker Street\, Kittery\, ME 03904\n \nAbstract watercolor washes in various shapes and colors will dance across your paper and blend seamlessly with intricate Zentangle patterns\, creating unique and mesmerizing abstract artworks. \nZentangle is a pen and ink process whereby specific patterns are combined\, resulting in intricate and beautiful designs. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists\, this step-by-step instruction is easy to follow and will help you relax. Unwind with art therapy and let your imagination flow. \nMaterials to Bring:\n– Watercolor Pan Set (or tubes)\n– Some round watercolor brushes or whatever brushes you have\n– Black ink Sakura Micron pen (any size) or any ultra-fine tip pen (must be permanent ink).\n– Watercolor paper. 8×10 is good. Can be 140# cold press or hot press\n– Masking tape\n– Board or mylar for taping paper\n-Optional: Any fine-tip colored pens (must be permanent ink)\n– Optional: Metallic gold watercolor paint\, white posca pen and gold metallic pen. (I will have some pens available for $2 ea. if needed.) \nClass size is limited. Register early! \nJoyce Amend\, BS\, MA\, CZT\nPortsmouth\, NH\nJoyce Amend lives on the beautiful seacoast of New Hampshire. She earned her BS degree at Cabrini University\, PA; then earned her MA degree in Visual Art at Wesleyan University\, CT. Before relocating to York\, ME\, she taught art in Connecticut schools and was the recipient of various grants awarded by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts\, the State of Connecticut and the Hartford Education Foundation.  More recently\, Amend was awarded a grant by the Maine Arts Commission that focused on her work with acrylic fluid art. \nAmend enjoys painting in acrylic\, watercolor and oil\, is a CZT (Certified Zentangle Art Teacher)\, and has taught numerous workshops in Mandala Dot Painting\, Abstract Watercolor\, Acrylic Fluid Art Painting and Zentangle Meditative Drawing at various recreational\, community and health groups throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Her work has been exhibited throughout the seacoast.
