Artie Bakopolus Trio with Artie (sax), Mark Shilansky (piano), and Tony Sumbury (bass) will perform at the final “Jazz in the Streets,” a free event sponsored by the Seacoast Jazz Society on Saturday, August 20, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. outside on the Vaughan Mall Stage in downtown Portsmouth.
Catch two additional events, also happening from 12:30 to 2 p.m., within walking distance of the Vaughn Mall Stage:
– Giorgio Albanese & Friends, with Giorgio on jazz accordion, on Ceres Street near the tugboats
– Jason Anick & Friends, with Jason on jazz violin, in Market Square in front of North Church
In addition to “Jazz in the Streets” the Seacoast Jazz Society, a nonprofit organization, also sponsors an annual jazz festival, a spring lecture series, and special events as part of its mission to engage the community, support local musicians, and provide scholarships for young artists.
