Dub Apocalypse is an instrumental dub reggae band from Boston, MA that includes Tommy Benedetti (drums- John Brown’s Body),Timo Shanko (Sax/Bass – G Love & Special Sauce), Johnny Trama (Guitar – Trama Unit),Van Martin (Guitar – Organically Good Trio), Dana Colley (Sax – Morphine), and Aaron Bellamy (bass – Sam Kininger Band).
They have created their own unique sound that fuses the militant toughness of Sly & Robbie and Scientist Productions, with a balanced twin guitar attack, explosive Coltrane inspired sax, and a healthy dose of improvisation. The band plays a mix of classic Jamaican tunes and dub plates from the 70s and early 80s, mixed with their own compostitions. The Dub Apocalypse live show is a soul shakin’ throwdown..and they invite you along for the journey.
