Jay Goldsmith What Artists Look Like

Art Exhibit: ‘What Artists Look Like 2017’

Discover Portsmouth
10 Middle St
Portsmouth, NH 03801
United States6034368433

Once again photographer Jay  Goldsmith and the Portsmouth Historical Society present this widely popular exhibition. You will see portraits of selected artists in their studios, along with two of the artist’s works of art.

A wedding and family portrait photographer by trade, Mr. Goldsmith uses a unique printing process. His technique is an homage to the days of crisp black and white images and hand-made prints. He starts with an 1873 invention known as the platinum-palladium process. In a dimly lit room, the photographer brushes this chemical emulsion onto French watercolor paper as was done almost a century and a half ago.

Exhibit runs November 3 – December 23, 2017

A special opening reception will be held Friday, November 3, from 5-8 pm during Art ‘Round Town.
