An Introduction to Culture Keepers, Culture Makers: Portsmouth Edition
Date: Wednesday, October 21
Location: Zoom. This is a virtual event.
Free and open to the public. Donations welcome!
Please join “Culture Keepers, Culture Makers” founders Richard Haynes and Kristen Butterfield-Ferrell for an opportunity to witness and participate in an open conversation about race.
The full “Culture Keepers, Culture Makers” series was postponed due to COVID-19. However, we all recognize the need and opportunity to come together now. “We are all struggling. We are going to gain strength and freedom through honest dialog,” said Richard Haynes.
This conversation is a precursor to the upcoming program which will dig more deeply into how the power of culture can influence our own beliefs and biases and is important because, as Kristen Butterfield-Ferrell said, “Cross-racial conversations are not easy. We practice a LOT. We all need to overcome the fear and try.”
Following a conversation between Richard and Kristen, audience questions and comments will be addressed through an online Q&A.
