SUMMARY:"An Empty Sky" at The Players Ring
DESCRIPTION:A Staged Reading\nOctober 27\, 2026 \n\nWritten by Joshua Faigen. Directed by Leslie Pasternack. \n\n\n“An Empty Sky” depicts a love relationship struggling to blossom in a time of political strangeness nearly devoid of hope. \nIn a small New England church\, a disgraced clergy woman and a Jewish piano tuner build a fragile haven. But how long can they hold onto it? \n“An Empty Sky” tenderly grapples with many current themes in an imaginative and humane way. \nFollowing the reading\, the audience is invited to remain for a moderated conversation designed to provide constructive feedback to the playwright. Your observations\, questions\, and impressions become an important part of the play’s development and help shape its next draft. \n*** \nThis staged reading is part of the Players Ring New Play Lab\, our script development program dedicated to supporting playwrights and bringing bold new work to life through mentorship\, feedback\, and community. \nWe are grateful to the support of Kennebunk Savings Bank and the Eppes-Jefferson Foundation. \nLearn more about the program—and how you can get involved—at playersring.org/new-play-lab. \n\n\n\nCast\n\nDon Goettler\nTomer Oz\nDeya Ozburn\nJames Sears\nKyle Sidders\nWanda Strukus
