It’s still nearly two months away, but the Parma Music Festival continues to announce local and national acts for its three-day contemporary music event in August.

The third annual festival takes place Aug. 14-16, with seven concerts at six different venues in Portsmouth and Kittery, Maine. The music spans several genres, including classical, jazz, electronic, rock, and folk. There will also be visual arts and children’s events.

The shows include local jazz band The Chris Klaxton Group at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth on Aug. 14, Joseph Summer’s The Shakespeare Concerts at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth on Aug. 15, DJ and singer-songwriter Qwill at Buoy in Kittery on Aug. 15, and Boston-based R&B group Miss Fairchild at The Dance Hall in Kittery on Aug. 15.

The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra and The Great Bay Academy of Dance will present “Peter and the Wolf,” with narration by New Hampshire Public Radio host Virginia Prescott, at Prescott Park in Portsmouth on Aug. 16. The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra will also perform at the festival’s main event at The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Aug. 16, along with indie rockers Kingsley Flood. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

Admission to all the shows is free, except the main event at The Music Hall. Tickets to the main event are $20 and are on sale now at 603-436-2400 or themusichall.org. For a full schedule and more information, visit parmamusicfestival.org.
